We were in the practice with our almost 1 year old daughter and were examined by Dr. Rüegg. She was very patient and made sure that the lengthy and stressful examination for our little daughter went smoothly and without stress. We felt incredibly well taken care of.

I can heartily recommend Dr. Hohermuth as an ophthalmologist. Dr. Hohermuth and the entire team were very competent, friendly and courteous. My daughter and I felt very comfortable. Thank you very much!

An absolutely top managed practice. We have already had the pleasure of meeting a courteous team on several occasions and have experienced very competent and extremely empathetic treatment from Dr. Rüegg. We are happy to have found such excellent ophthalmological care for our one-year-old son.

We are an experienced and dedicated team of two ophthalmologists, several orthoptists and practice assistants. We provide ophthalmic care to children and adolescents, whether for a routine check-up or for a more complex eye condition.
Children are not small adults and every child is something special. We try to make the examination as playful and sensitive as possible for the children, while still examining them as precise as possible.
Our goal is to take enough time to listen to your concerns and harms, to support, promote and treat your child’s visual development as good as possible. There is a lot to see in life and many exciting things to discover! Everyday we are looking forward to support and treat our patients.

Most patients are in our office for 30 to 60 minutes, if eye drops are given rarely up to 2 hours (with break). We do our best every day to keep the appointments on time.

The practice is on the 1st floor and has an elevator. In the entrance area there is a parking space for the stroller. If it is important for you, you may bring the stroller to the practice. The waiting and examination rooms are accessible without obstacles. We have a convenient baby changing room. Babies and toddlers are welcome in our practice, so we are well equipped for them and have modern mobile examination equipment for children.
Up to 24 hours before, you can cancel the appointment free of charge by phone or e-mail. We reserve the right to charge for appointments canceled later or for unexcused absences. We are grateful if you release your appointment to other patients if you cannot come.
If you come to us as an adult patient, we will be happy to discuss with you in advance whether pupil dilating drops are necessary during the examination. Driving a vehicle with dilated pupils is prohibited by law. As a rule, pupil dilation lasts for 4 to 6 hours. During this time, near vision is blurred, making close work, such as an office job, difficult. We will be happy to schedule the appointments accordingly with you.
